Who she has worked withShe grew up in Akron, Ohio — her mother a schoolteacher, her father a construction shop manager — and earned the Division I basketball scholarship she had wanted her whole life, at Old Dominion University.
Then she quit during her freshman season. The sport had stopped bringing her joy, and she chose the career instead: she transferred to American University, worked a 4:30 a.m. morning-news internship, and did not watch an NBA game for years.
After graduating she moved to Los Angeles, served at the W Hollywood and started a YouTube channel in fashion and makeup. A year in, she picked up a basketball again, entered a Nike skills challenge and won it — and pivoted the channel to basketball. In 2014 that got her flown to Atlanta to audition for NBA 2KTV alongside Shaquille O'Neal and Ernie Johnson. She got the job.
I've been covering the NBA for over a decade and I was a basketball player myself. So, basketball is always going to be my anchor in anything that I do.
